Reminder - rail improvement works starting on Monday
We just wanted to remind you that Network Rail will be replacing the track running through Taunton station from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 March. This means no trains can call at Taunton during this time. As a result, no trains will run between Castle Cary/Weston-super-Mare and Taunton/Tiverton Parkway. Buses will replace trains on these routes. Our long-distance services to Devon and Cornwall will run on a diversion via Honiton, extending journey times by around an hour. Rail Strike Thursday 16th & Saturday 18th March
You may have seen reports that the RMT have suspended strike action at Network Rail ahead of a referendum on a new deal. Members of the TSSA union (management and control staff) have also accepted the proposed pay rise and deal at train operators. While this is welcome news, the RMT strike action at train operators continues and RMT (station and on board staff) will be on strike next Thursday 16 March, Saturday 18 March, Thursday 30 March and Saturday 1 April.
