The ‘World of Opportunity Programme’ is open from 23 September to 23 December

Heathrow is calling for SMEs in every corner of the UK to come forward and pitch their products to the world. The UK’s hub airport is relaunching its World of Opportunity Programme which helps exporters get their goods and services sold in international markets.  As the UK’s largest port by value and a crucial hub for international trade, Heathrow recognises the critical role of SMEs in driving economic growth and promoting British products globally.

The programme is designed to support the UK’s SMEs in boosting their export potential by focusing on trade missions, research, and training. This programme will provide £2,000 grants to 12 SME businesses across the UK, with one grant awarded to a business from each region and nation.

The ‘World of Opportunity Programme’ is open from 23 September to 23 December and 12 recipients will be chosen by a panel of experts. To apply, please fill in this form here: heathrow.com/world-of-opportunity and send it to policy@heathrow.com

The programme will award a £2,000 grant to 12 SMEs across the UK, applications will be open for three months and applicants can apply online through our website: heathrow.com/world-of-opportunity. For background, we’ve partnered with the Federation of Small Businesses and Department for Business and Trade on this grant programme. FSB will be a judge and DBT will offer advice through their Export Support Service, to assist in research and export strategies. The programme follows from DBT’s findings that British exporters feel less confident about seizing international opportunities; the grant aims to address this by providing financial support and expert guidance to help SMEs grow their export potential.

The previous rounds of the World of Opportunity programme ran between 2017-2019. We received over 200 applications and were pleased to support businesses from every corner of the UK. You can find information about the previous winners here.
