Serving with the Royal Military Police Special Operations Regiment, Martin was involved with close protection around the world. In N. Ireland he was personal bodyguard to the Commander of the Ulster Defence Regiment and then attached to the Foreign Office as bodyguard to British ambassadors in Kampala and Beirut, and on the CP team for the Prince and Princess of Wales visit to Hong Kong.
Between April 2003 and May 2007 he led a 24-man close protection team in Baghdad tasked with the safety of the program director of US-based Fortune 100 telecoms specialist Lucent Technologies.
For the past 15 years he was based in Hong Kong providing risk management services across SE Asia to corporations, industry, luxury brands and private clients. Martin recently returned to Cornwall and heads up the Salama Fikira UK and Europe division.
