Start Up Loans Officer (Truro)

SWIG Finance is one of the UK’s leading Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFIs) providing finance to smaller businesses that can’t find the support they need from their bank.  

We’re seeking a new person to join our busy and friendly Start Up Loans Team. This is hybrid home/office position with at least one day a week at our Truro office.

You’ll be providing support and guidance to help new business owners unlock the funding they need to take their businesses to the next level.  This is an exciting and rewarding role that comes with a ‘feel good’ factor, as you will play a key part in helping entrepreneurs realise their business ambitions.

As part of this, you will be reviewing a high volume of loan proposals from a diverse range of start-ups – no two days will be the same.

You’ll need to be a self-starter with a strong work ethic that enables you to adapt quickly to many different types of applicants and proposals.

You’ll have good analytical skills to quickly become confident with reading and interpreting a set of accounts and business plans. You will need to be comfortable working in a team environment.

Full training will be provided alongside support with your continuous professional development. You will have the opportunity to progress within the team and gain your own lending discretion.  

This role could suit to a recent graduate seeking to progress a career in the finance industry, as well as those with transferrable skills who might like to try something new. Experience running your own business would be useful.
 
Starting salary c.£26,000 - £30,000 plus benefits per annum, depending on experience.
